Northgate Country Club Course Tour

Hole 1

Hole 1 - Par 5 (9/5)
Black – 552 Blue – 525 White – 501 Green – 443

Hole Description

This medium length par 5 features out of bounds left and right off the tee. Reachable in two for longer hitters that avoid the fairway bunker but beware the series of sand traps short of the green that will test even the best short game.

Hole 2

Hole 2 – Par 4 (13/9)
Black – 394 Blue – 373 White – 344 Green – 316

Hole Description

Out of bounds left and right again makes tee shot placement a priority. The raised two-tiered green is guarded on the left with deep bunkers short of the green and water long. From the fairway you will have a mid/short iron and a great scoring opportunity.

Hole 3

Hole 3 – Par 4 (7/7)
Black – 427 Blue – 397 White – 321 Green – 278

Hole Description

Players will want to stay left of the fairway bunker off the tee for the best approach to the green. Approach shots short and left will surely find their way into the water below. The green is large making club selection important to avoid three putt range.

Hole 4

Hole 4 – Par 3 (17/17)
Black – 157 Blue – 133 White – 122 Green – 108

Hole Description

This short par 3 features a heavily guarded, three-tiered, sloping green. The main focus is the water to the right but watch out for the sand long and left. Par from there is no easy task.

Hole 5

Hole 5 – Par 4 (11/13)
Black – 400 Blue – 378 White – 347 Green – 275

Hole Description

Players may elect to go with less than driver on this tight par 4 to avoid the penalty area left and fairway bunker and out of bounds to the right. Golfers who find the fairway are left with a mid/short iron into an accessible two-tiered green guarded by sand on the left side.

Hole 6

Hole 6 – Par 4 (5/3)
Black – 442 Blue – 408 White – 372 Green – 352

Hole Description

A well struck tee shot on this long dogleg left is a must. Out of bounds extends down the right-hand side and a large fairway bunker on the left punish any shots offline. The green is unguarded at the front to allow for roll up from any long iron and fairway wood approach shots.

Hole 7

Hole 7 – Par 4 (1/11)
Black – 423 Blue – 403 White – 356 Green – 281

Hole Description

This signature par 4 makes a near 90-degree dogleg to the right with water guarding the entire right side and another penalty area through the fairway. A series of bunkers dissect the landing area giving players the option to play it safe up the left-hand side or cut the corner with a long, forced carry leaving just a short iron or wedge into the green that is again guarded by water right and bunkers left.

Hole 8

Hole 8 – Par 3 (15/15)
Black – 193 Blue – 164 White – 150 Green – 119

Hole Description

An uphill par 3 featuring another two-tiered sloping green and penalty area to the left. Take an extra club to be sure to carry the sand short and right. 3 is a great score on this hole.

Hole 9

Hole 9 – Par 5 (3/1)
Black – 595 Blue – 559 White – 520 Green – 481

Hole Description

This long par 5 requires accuracy off the tee with trouble left and right in the form of a penalty area, bunkers, and trees. A calculated layup is required to avoid the bunkering that cuts into the fairway on the left and right. An elevated green makes for a difficult up and down if you miss the green.

Hole 10

Hole 10 – Par 5 (6/2)
Black – 533 Blue – 521 White – 460 Green – 445

Hole Description

This dogleg left features water all along the left side and trees line the right. Very seldom will you have a flat lie to go for this green in two that is guarded by water short and left and a bunker to the right. Lay ups should favor the left center leaving a short wedge and great scoring chance.

Hole 11

Hole 11 – Par 3 (18/18)
Black – 196 Blue – 173 White – 157 Green – 115

Hole Description

Sand short and up the left side along with a drop off short and right of the green mean only well struck iron shots usually hit this green in regulation. Mounding around the green to the right can make for a difficult chip shot.

Hole 12

Hole 12 – Par 4 (12/6)
Black – 316 Blue – 303 White – 278 Green – 222

Hole Description

A true risk/reward par 4. Long hitters may have a go at driving the green, but it is all carry with water extending down the entire left side and in front of the green. The smart play is laying up with a long/medium iron favoring the right side to avoid running out into the water. Stay below the hole on this one.

Hole 13

Hole 13 – Par 4 (2/8)
Black – 458 Blue – 442 White – 392 Green – 303

Hole Description

The most demanding par 4 at Northgate from tee to green. Out of bounds left, penalty area right, and even tee shots up the right side of the fairway may not have a clear shot to the green. A long approach over water into a narrow green awaits.

Hole 14

Hole 14 – Par 4 (10/10)
Black – 376 Blue – 366 White – 344 Green – 289

Hole Description

This short par 4 features a penalty area up the entire right side and trees left. Bunkers up the right can come in to play for long hitters. Players may want to take less than driver off the tee especially with a front pin requiring a high approach with a lot of spin.

Hole 15

Hole 15 – Par 3 (16/16)
Black – 216 Blue – 174 White – 148 Green – 123

Hole Description

Another great par 3 featuring a small green guarded by bunkers on the left. Be careful not to miss too far right as balls can kick down and roll out of bounds. Middle of the green is the smart play.

Hole 16

Hole 16 – Par 4 (8/12)
Black – 404 Blue – 395 White – 380 Green – 292

Hole Description

The tee shot is the focus at the 16th. This dogleg left is protected up the left by a stand of trees as well as out of bounds. A penalty area is in play for tee shots that run through the fairway to the right. Players finding the fairway should be left with a short iron and a great scoring opportunity.

Hole 17

Hole 17 – Par 3 (14/14)
Black – 196 Blue – 196 White – 141 Green – 130

Hole Description

The final par 3 features a large two-tiered green with sand to the left and another penalty area to the right. Shots just right of the green may bound left and reach the putting surface. Club selection is important to avoid a lengthy two putt.

Hole 18

Hole 18 – Par 5 (4/4)
Black – 549 Blue – 537 White – 522 Green – 454

Hole Description

The closing hole at Northgate is a great dogleg right par 5. A collection of trees up the right-hand side will block most approach shots from the right side of the fairway. The green is guarded by water short and left and bunkers long and right.
